New York Governor Kathy Hochul today announced Cheelcare among the top 19 companies who will travel to Buffalo, New York and participate in “Finals Week” as they compete to earn a spot on stage to pitch their startup for a $1 Million investment at Shea’s Theatre on October 28th.
Cheelcare was shortlisted out of over 400 companies who entered the seventh edition of the globally-renowned startup competition - featuring seven prizes of $500,000 and one top prize of $1 Million.
During “Finals Week” the 19 finalists will receive guidance and mentorship before competing to earn one of 10 spots in the live round.
"We are ecstatic to have been selected as a finalist for this year’s 43North competition. Over the last twelve months, our company has made major progress launching our signature product, Companion, overcoming the effects of a global pandemic, and bringing a new level of independence to the disabled community around the world. The Companion was exceptionally well received by the market and customers continuously tell us how greatly our product improves their life. We’ve now reached a pivotal moment and an investment from 43North, along with the support from the programme, would amplify our growth and radically change the lives of even more people living with physical disabilities.” Eugene Cherny, Co-Founder & CEO.
Those who make it to the final round will each give a two-minute pitch on stage before a live audience. The event is open to the public and tickets can be reserved online here.
43North is an annual investment competition that attracts and cultivates high-growth companies in Buffalo, New York. Should Cheelcare win an investment, the funds will support the establishment of a manufacturing and logistics facility in New York to support sales within the USA.
