There are moments that remind us why we do what we do.

Seeing Companion featured in the Summer 2026 issue of ParaSport Magazine is one of those moments. Even more meaningful is knowing that Companion helped support Canada's Paralympic wheelchair curling team on its journey to winning gold at the Milano-Cortina Paralympic Games.

Canada captured its first Paralympic wheelchair curling gold medal since 2014, finishing the tournament undefeated. Before the Games, Cheelcare provided a Companion power assist device to each member of the team, helping athletes conserve energy while navigating the Paralympic Village and the challenging cobblestone streets of Cortina.

As Team Canada curler Mark Ideson shared in the article:

"It helped us move through the village and around Cortina, especially over cobblestone roads, which saved a lot of energy during our long 11-game event. At a Paralympic Games, where every bit of focus and physical capacity matters, that energy conservation is critical."
