Cheelcare Supports ParaSport Ontario's Play to Podium Fund

July 25, 2024, at the Deer Creek Golf & Banquet Facility in Ajax, Ontario -  ParaSport Ontario held its annual Awards Brunch and Para Pro-Am Golf Tournament. This year’s event was marked by an extraordinary act of generosity—a donation worth $150,000 in adapted sports equipment. Cheelcare is proud to contribute the gift of two Companions to this cause, made possible by the kindness of an anonymous donor.

ParaSport Ontario's Play to Podium Fund aims to support athletes with disabilities in their journey from recreational sports to competitive excellence. At this year’s event, two remarkable athletes, Jim Davies and Loretta Davies, were among the recipients of a Companion power add-on. These devices, designed to increase the distance and range of mobility for manual wheelchair users, represent a significant advancement in assistive technology. The Companion allows users to enjoy enhanced mobility with features such as a powerful motor, quick-connect mechanism, and lightweight design, all crafted to ensure a smooth and stable ride. Now Jim and Loretta can rest their shoulders in between competitions and focus on the game.

Cheelcare extends its heartfelt thanks to the anonymous donor whose generosity made this gift possible. Your support is not just a donation; it's an investment in the future of these athletes, enabling them to achieve greater mobility and pursue their sports with enhanced capabilities.

As a company dedicated to innovation in assistive technologies, Cheelcare remains committed to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities. We believe in the power of mobility and independence, and our products are designed to deliver on that promise. The Companion power add-on is a testament to our mission to provide practical and effective solutions for wheelchair users, helping them to live life to the fullest.

We share in the journey that lies ahead for the athletes supported by the Play to Podium Fund.
